Campus Logistics

Please take a moment to read some important logistical information

ARRIVAL at 7:20-7:45:

Students can enter the building starting at 7:20am. Walkers use the cafe doors. The back loop is open for cars to begin dropping students off at 7:20. At 7:30, the front car loop opens for drop off. Pre-K parents, use the far left lane of the back car loop to reach the Pre-K drop-off. K-5 parents, pull forward and drop off when stopped. Staff will assist, but students should open their own doors. For safety, students must exit from the passenger side of the vehicle next to the sidewalk.

DISMISSAL @ 3:10:

Students can dismiss as a walker, car rider, bus, daycare, or YMCA. You will indicate how your student(s) will go home with homeroom teachers by the first day of school. Oldest siblings will go to the youngest siblings homeroom for dismissal. Please keep this in mind when reviewing pick-up locations for students.

WALKERS: For Pre-K to 1st grade walkers, a parent/guardian must show a labeled dismissal tag for pick-up at the side door near the cafe. 2nd to 5th grade walkers exit from the door to the left of the main entrance and do not require a dismissal tag.

CAR-RIDERS: The back loop is used for afternoon carpool. A staff member will walk students to their vehicle. Each vehicle must display a car tag and the driver must be authorized for pick-up. Use the right and middle lanes for pick-up; the left lane is for passing and exiting the carpool loop. Move quickly once your student is in the vehicle to keep dismissal efficient. After pick-up, remove your car tag for driving safety. Students will exit by grade levels as shown on the dismissal map. If you have multiple students, pick them up at the youngest student's exit.

Students in Ms. Stewart or Mrs. Bloomfield's Class: Parents/guardians will receive a specific car tag that allows you to enter the front loop to pick-up your student.

Bus Riders: Students will depart from Carroll after attendance is taken for their designated bus. The Transportation Department will provide further details on the route and estimated arrival time to each bus stop.

Please use the designated crosswalk area to cross the street safely. Thank you for following these guidelines to ensure we keep all of our students, staff, and families safe!

Volunteer Background Check

Attendance

On-Time Arrival: Student must be in building by 7:45am to avoid being marked “tardy.”

Absences: Students must attend school at least 90% of the school year, this includes excused and unexcused absences.

Excused Absences: Parents may write a note/email excusing their child’s absence up to 8 times a school year. Medical notes are always excused when received within 3 school days of the absence.

Unexcused Absences: Parents will receive a “truancy letter” for 3, 7, and 10 unexcused absences. This is district policy to notify parents when they reach the specified number of absences. After 10 absences, an attendance contract will be put in place to mitigate further absences from accumulating.

Early Pickups: Students checked out before 3:10pm accrue an absence for that day.

Volunteer Background Check Information

FISD Board Policy requires each volunteer chaperone, and mentor to undergo a background check annually before working  with students.  To work with student on campu, you must create a VOLY account by visiting https://friscoisd.voly.org

Lunch Visitors will begin August 26th.  This allows our students time to learn all of the routines and procedures prior to parents arriving.  Look for a link to sign up coming soon!  We look forward to seeing you on campus!
